WEST BOYLSTON — On Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m., the public is invited to a bicentennial program at Major Edwards Elementary School. The program will begin with the performance of “Our Town, Our World,” by 27 fourth- and fifth-graders, led by Sally Holden, who will sing about pride in our community. Each student will also portray a person important in town history.

Each historical personality portrayed will emphasize that the present generation has a responsibility to keep the town going. The performance will end with students from 2208 coming back in time to see the kids today.

After the play there will be a formal reading of the proclamation noting the incorporation of the town on March 7, 1808.

Time is running out! Get your tickets to March 9 Bicentennial Brunch at the Manor. Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for children ages four through 12. Children under 4 are free. Tickets are available at J R’s Gifts, the town administrator’s office at 127 Hartwell St., Pruneau’s Barber Shop, West Boylston Insurance and the Manor. There are two seatings; one at 10 a.m. and one at 11:30 a.m. Once you purchase your tickets, call the Manor to select your seating time.

After brunch, attend the free concert by the Heritage String Band at the High School from 2 to 4 p.m.
