Bicentennial program now ready

The official West Boylston Bicentennial program has arrived.

The glossy-covered booklet has the bicentennial logo on the front. Inside, along with a list of events, there is a brief history of West Boylston, a copy of the 1808 incorporation document, a poem about West Boylston by Shirley Smith, a walking tour of the commons area, the story behind the bicentennial logo and many other exciting things.

The bicentennial program costs $3 and is available at the Historical Society and other places selling bicentennial souvenirs.

Upcoming events:
May 7: West Boylston Historical Society annual meeting at the Manor, 5:30 p.m. Program includes the history of schools in West Boylston, with an emphasis on the 50th anniversary of the high school.

May 26: Memorial Day

June 4: Seniors feeding seniors. The junior class – incoming seniors – will be putting on a meal for West Boylston senior citizens.

June 6-8: Military encampments and Revolutionary War period re-enactments. Events take place on the Town Commons, the Bigelow Tavern and Camp Woodhaven. Activities include: Rededication of the stone at the grave of Joseph Dwelley, a Revolutionary War soldier.
