that have now become some of mine, including my aunt’s Swedish torte, half of
the cookies I bake for Christmas each year, my mother’s hot fudge sauce, and the

WEST BOYLSTON— The West Boylston Bicentennial Web site is counting down the
days, minutes, hours and seconds until the town’s 200th anniversary. With 91
days to go, the plans for a yearlong celebration are coming together.
The town was created out of parts of Boylston, Holden, Lancaster, Shrewsbury and
Sterling after 30 families led by Ezra Beaman built a church on what is now the
Common so that they would not have to travel to Boylston for church services and

JR's selling
Bicentennial souvenirs
WEST BOYLSTON— JR's Crafts and Gift at Centerwood
Terrace now has the complete line of Bicentennial souvenirs. According to Sue
Delaney, the owner of JR's, it is the only store in town that has the shirts,
mugs, pins, ornaments and other items commemorating the 200th anniversary of the
town. Although, she noted, they are still available at the Historical Society
and West Boylston Insurance.
Delaney said all the proceeds from the sale of the souvenirs go to the Friends
of the Bicentennial. In order to do this, she said that JR's can only accept
cash or checks for the items.
