A community cookbook filled with tasty recipes is a treasure.

December 13, 2007 - Bicentennial help sought

The bicentennial year of the town of West Boylston is upon us. Now is the time to decide what you want to do to join in the festivities. There are all kinds of events planned, including a re-enactment of the first town meeting, a grand ball, a military re-enactment, a parade and even a major event for the children. October 2, 2007 - 200th anniversary to see many events
Year of celebration approaches

WEST BOYLSTON— The West Boylston Bicentennial Web site is counting down the days, minutes, hours and seconds until the town’s 200th anniversary. With 91 days to go, the plans for a yearlong celebration are coming together.

The town was created out of parts of Boylston, Holden, Lancaster, Shrewsbury and Sterling after 30 families led by Ezra Beaman built a church on what is now the Common so that they would not have to travel to Boylston for church services and town meetings. More >>

August 9, 2007 - JR's selling Bicentennial souvenirs
WEST BOYLSTON— JR's Crafts and Gift at Centerwood Terrace now has the complete line of Bicentennial souvenirs. According to Sue Delaney, the owner of JR's, it is the only store in town that has the shirts, mugs, pins, ornaments and other items commemorating the 200th anniversary of the town. Although, she noted, they are still available at the Historical Society and West Boylston Insurance.

Delaney said all the proceeds from the sale of the souvenirs go to the Friends of the Bicentennial. In order to do this, she said that JR's can only accept cash or checks for the items.  More >>
