Edwards Elementary School have about
15,000 reasons to be proud, and those
reasons are displayed in a one-of-a-kind
original mosaic portraying historic
sites in West Boylston inside the
school. The mosaic was created by all
the students in the school to
commemorate the town’s bicentennial and
is on prominent display on a central
wall of the school, just inside the
school’s main corridor.

Ball on March 8. The 325 guests who

into Boston recently to receive a proclamation declaring March 7, 2008 West
Boylston Day in Massachusetts . Governor Deval Patrick presented the
proclamation to Essay winners Matt Gomes, Nathan Bricault, Kaleigh Ryder, and
Nicole Ellis. The fifth essay winner, John Welch, was unable to attend.

WEST BOYLSTON— Two centuries after his efforts, a celebration was held for “the
father of West Boylston.”
Ezra Beaman led a group of families in constructing a church on what is now the
town common more than 200 years ago. Residents then petitioned the state
Legislature and the town of West Boylston was incorporated in 1808.
