Bicentennial black and white ball a success
To the editor:
The Bicentennial Ball Committee and the Beaman Oak Garden Club were so pleased
to host the Black and White Bicentennial Ball on March 8. The 325 guests who
attended were eager to participate in the black and white theme – most were
dressed in their finest black dresses and suits with some in black tie. The
Wachusett Country Club was adorned with black and white decorations in every
corner, with many town photos, old and new, scattered throughout. The
centerpieces, accented with top hats and boas, were described as “works of art.”
The sounds of the live band, Rhythm, set the festive tone and the seamless
transition to DJ Kevin Whitney ensured a full dance floor for the majority of
the evening. Guests were also invited to have formal pictures taken to
commemorate the event.
A delicious assortment of appetizers was served, compliments of the Wachusett
Country Club, followed by the most phenomenal buffet we could have imagined. The
salads were unique and tasty, the endless variety of entrées were gourmet and
mouth-watering followed by a tempting dessert bar, most couldn’t resist.
Special thanks to Don Marrone and the Wachusett Country Club, Lori Bourn and
Lynn Valois, Amy Mancini, Patrick Novia, Lyn Bartholomew and Tara Vavruska,
committee members and all who attended. It was an evening where the town “came
alive” and a perfect way to begin the year of activities honoring the
Bicentennial.
Happy Birthday West Boylston!
