Boylston's Own Pipe Organ
Come hear a piece of West Boylston
History, The George Reed Organ at Christ
Lutheran Church, , Thomas Street, West
Boylston and enjoy some beautiful music
from a Thomas Reed Pipe Organ and learn
about the history of these instruments
which were manufactured in West Boylston
before the reservoir. Learn how a rare
George Reed organ came to be at Christ
Lutheran Church. The history, which
includes a slide show, will be followed
by a hymn sing of old favorites starting
with "A Mighty Fortress is Our God.".
Light refreshments to follow along with
a chance to talk to the restorer of the
organ, David Hagberg and enjoy
photographs of the restoration.
The Reed
Pipe Organ Factory was located on what
is now Route 12 (Worcester Street) near
the railroad overpass. The building is
now used as an antique cooperative.
